circa 1840, with turn-off 4in. barrels (frozen), starred muzzles with engraved bands, engraved short side-ribs at breech, Birmingham proof, lower guard for nipple, radiused scroll engraved boxlock action with central dolphin hammer and concealed automatic trigger, sliding safe behind the hammer, finely chequered walnut bag-shaped butt and white metal oval escutcheon to wrist
